The integral broadband impedance matching network (transformer 5:1) allows broadband antenna tuning.<\/p>\n<p>It is the perfect backup antenna for apartments, condominiums, homeowners associations, deed restrictions and CCRs (Covenants, Conditions &amp; Restrictions), ARES, RACES, MARS, EMCOMM, NVIS, First Responders, and especially for Emergency Preparedness.<br \/>\nThe unit is totally waterproof. The antenna wire is 60\u2019 long and covers 6M to 160M. An external tuner might be required depending on the configuration chosen.<\/p>\n<p>The antenna will perform very well as a sloper or an inverted \u201cL\u201d configuration. For NVIS operations (40M \u2013 80M) the antenna must be installed horizontally with the ground and elevated between 9\u2019 and 12\u2019 high.<\/p>\n<p>The CHA EMCOMM II V2 does not require any ground-plane but will perform better with one.
